I’m Just a Mollusc on the Ocean Floor

I’m just a mollusc on the ocean floor.
I’ve a friend who is a lively little prawn.
I’m firmly attached to sedimentary rock.
I’ve been here since the day I was born.

My neighbour is a colourful sea anemone.
With tentacles similar to a mop of hair.
Believe it or not he’s a carnivorous little blighter.
Caught in his antennae and you haven’t a prayer.

I’m bored stiff at the bottom of the sea,
Watching plankton drift by me every day.
There’s a cuttlefish after my little friend.
There’s nowt I can do if he takes him away.

It’s extremely dark on the ocean floor.
You can’t see your hand in front of your face.
I really doesn’t matter much to me at all,
Coz I haven’t got a hand in the first place.
