Scouse Pride

The pride you feel as a Scouser is tangible.
Is this the same for folks from every location?
Do they love their home town the same as us?
Do they enjoy that self-important sensation?

That fierce loyalty is a trait to behold.
Warmth and good humour so abundant.
We’re Scouse not English we declare,
In response to being viewed as redundant.

We’ve become resilient to knock after knock.
We’ve cultivated reliance on one another.
Solidarity is the middle name of each of us,
And for us there’s no one quite like our mother.

A defiant wit coupled with a unique accent.
Working class pride married to Irish traits.
A long sea-port history of immigration.
If you spot as scouser you’ll also spot his mates.
