A Drunken Man in Liverpool
From Doctor Duncan’s to Rigby’s I staggered one night
Drinking bitter and stout claiming ‘ale’s my birthright’
I headed to the Lion, then the Hole in the Wall
But it was when I hit the Ship and Mitre I began to stall.
After a refreshing short rest I headed to The Railway
Where, after a couple pints of Guinness I was led astray
To the Lady of Man I was enticed by a nubile young thing
Too drunk to realise she’d seen me and thought ‘ker-ching’.
I awoke on a bench close to Lime Street Station.
My wallet and watch hadn’t made the duration.
However, some coins remained in my pocket for sure.
So I headed to Doctor Duncans to begin once more.
