Little E loves to eat between meals.
He says he has a need for a ‘put-me-on’.
However, these are more than snacks,
They’d struggle to be scoffed by Little John.

To help him last until his next formal meal,
A ‘put-me-on’, he declares, gives him fuel.
Never eat between meals we tell him.
He never stops eating to listen, the fool.

He really loves to chew and gnaw and nibble.
A buffet table gives him such a glow inside.
He adores ‘put-me-ones’ of many a kind.
His favourite though are eggs, that are fried.
