An Extinct Conversation

‘How would you like to be extinct - no-more - gone?’ said the Dodo.
‘I am’, replied the Woolly Mammoth, gently rocking back and forth.
‘I used to be on the endangered list’, whispered the Sabre-toothed Cat.
‘But I’m off it now because there are no more of me left in the wild.’
A Great Auk and a Tasmanian Tiger were sitting shoulder to shoulder,
And they were both gently weeping. ‘Why us?’, they said in unison.
