Societal Changes

They say the world is getting smaller and people are getting taller.
Longer coffins are required these days, as well as holes where they lays.
All this may not matter but it does that people are getting fatter.
Injections can now help reduce weight. Now, let’s be honest this is great.
Seemingly the problem is keeping it off when your nose remains in the trough.
Aeroplanes are going faster and you can now fly from Doncaster.
Haircuts have changed. I’m no longer appalled at being prematurely bald.
Relationships are different and monogamy is fading. I do find this quite degrading.
There are uncertainties over gender. That’s OK as long as you’re not a pretender.
Wars are fought by drones but when I was a lad it was simply sticks and stones.
We fear our politicians are corrupt. There is a chance a revolution will erupt.
Much of our shopping is now online. If you’re a hermit then that’s divine.
The milkman today is seen as a phenomenon and one with a horse is long gone.
There are more battery-operated cars than not but charging points have been forgot.
The problem is change is at full throttle and we can’t get the genie back in the bottle.
We might long for the past as we watch on aghast.
