We all want a voice, just look at social media.
Now we are either a pundit or an informant,
Keen to share our views and express ourselves.
We are no longer discursively dormant.

We are influencers in our own right.
Desperately eager to be approved.
Checking for likes and comments,
Wanting someone to say they were moved.

Social Media has done more than connect us.
Its offered us roles as authors and reviewers.
Most of us affirm each other’s postings.
However, some of us are purely evildoers.

It’s too easy to simply press the button.
As we hide behind the skirts of Facebook.
Stand up, be honest and be counted.
Say your name and let others have a good look.

Don’t say online what you wouldn’t say to their face.
Curb your evil comments and snide remarks.
Only say something worthwhile and nice.
Set kindness as one of your benchmarks.
