We all need our idols to whom we applaud.
Seeing them in the street we’re open-jawed.

I have an autograph book ready for them to sign.

What makes me so very excited to meet them?
It probably like unearthing a really precious gem.
Perhaps it’s that they are most often on a stage.
What the hell am I thinking at my ripe old age?

These celebrities are no different to me.
The just have talent that’s so obvious to see.
If my talents were on show maybe I’d be lauded.
It would be fun being a teacher and being applauded.
