No-one is Ugly, Just Unique
She said “No-one is ugly, just unique,
But you’re the exception to the rule.”
I knew our relationship was over,
When she shouted, “Get lost, you fool.”
I thought that was just a touch harsh.
I told he there was no need for scorn,
It was further upsetting when she said,
My face had become exceedingly worn.
I was taken aback and didn’t respond.
Now generally, I don’t wish ill to anyone.
But I hoped she’d get her comeuppance,
And that her meanness would be undone.
Sadly, she’s obsessed with appearances.
But it’s personality that matters, not looks.
She likes a good-looking man as a trophy.
Personality, though, is what she overlooks.
Looks, of course, deteriorate over time.
Personality shines through to the end.
She’ll be wrinkled and worn one day,
When she doubtless won’t have a friend.
