Our good friend John was clearly the best.

“Those in the cheap seats clap your hands,”
He exclaimed with a twinkle in his eye.
“The rest of you can rattle your jewellery.”
At highlighting inequality, John was the guy.

At only 40 he had so much more to say.
Cut down in his prime by Chapman and his gun.
We would have listened to his calls for peace and love.
You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.

John's influence remains in his music and his words.
Imagine all the people is a legacy that's very strong.
"All we are saying is give peace a chance."
That's a message that surely can't be wrong.
