Bedtime in Our House
It’s 7 o’clock in the evening, the television is off and it’s time for bed.
It’s 8 o’clock, I’ve read you a story, you’re ready now to lay your head.
It’s 9 o’clock, we’ve washed the dishes, tidied up and put the TV on again.
It’s 10 o’clock, I’ve watched the news and mummy has emailed aunty Jane.
It’s 11.00 o’clock, mummy and daddy are coming to bed now as well.
It’s midnight, not a sound can be heard in the house where we dwell.
It’s 1.00 o’clock in the morning and toys are stirring and starting to play.
It’s 2.00 o’clock, cars are racing, and the rocking horse decides to neigh.
It’s 3.00 o’clock, a jigsaw is assembling itself and crayons are colouring in.
It’s 4.00 o’clock now and dolly is playing hopscotch, the carousel is in a spin.
It’s 5.00 o’clock and little ted and monkey are waltzing lovingly together.
It’s 6.00 o’clock and big ted tells the toys to return as quiet as a feather.
It’s 7.00 o’clock, time to rise and have your breakfast, you sleepy little lad.
It’s 8.00 o’clock, ready to go to school, what an uneventful night we’ve had.
