I don’t particularly need a bag for life.
I can see the merits but it’s not for me.
A paper bag I can use a many times,
And I promise you I’ll be its trustee.

I won’t throw it away with life still in it.
When I do, remember it is recyclable.
A bag for life it hard to fold and store.
A nice paper bag is just so likeable.

A bag for life is sometimes just too big.
I need a small receptacle now and then.
A paper bag is just the thing.
You can fold it and use it time and again.

Admittedly, a paper bag doesn’t have handles.
A drawback when carrying a heavy load.
But try putting a bag for life in your pocket.
Let’s face it, a bag for life not easily stowed.

There’s a compromise to be had I’m sure.
A paper bag for a few bits and pieces.
I can have a bag for life I use on occasion.
When my shopping list considerable increases.
