Poemosophy
Machiavelli was a little tinker.
Always was a bit of a thinker.
He crafts an opening, pulls a flanker,
Rather like an investment banker.
Aristotle, the king of philosophy,
Rhetoric, biology and botany,
Logic, metaphysics and ethics,
Political theory and aesthetics.
Dante, the medieval Italian poet.
A moral philosopher and he knew it,
The Divine Comedy was his tome.
You’d resist reading this at home.
Edward Lear was a bit of a wanderer.
In writing nonsense, he was a conjurer.
The Owl and the Pussycat floated his boat,
Along with money, honey and a five pound note.
